Distinguished Scholarships Planning Timeline

  • Discover Your Path

"What do I want to do?"; "Where do I want to go?"; "What are the eligibility requirements and planning criteria for each scholarship?" The ODS website provides a wealth of information about a host of prestigious, nationally and globally competitive awards available to our students for research, study, postgraduate academic programs.

  •

    Start Early

"What are the deadlines?";  "What application materials are required?"; "What is the selection process?" The distinguished scholarship process  involves early conversations, multiple drafts and thorough reviews, so it's important to be proactive.  Submit the Interest Survey form to connect with the ODS team for guidance and stay on track with your planning and application.

  •

    Get Involved; Stay Involved

Competitive applicants for distinguished scholarships demonstrate character, leadership and service. High academic achievement, involvement in research and other experiential opportunities can help to distinguish an applicant.

  •

    Engage with faculty and mentors

Forge relationships with faculty and other mentors in your academic area, who can help connect you to research and engagement opportunities and, later, will be able to write about you in a detailed way in letters of recommendation.

  •

    Partner with ODS

Applying for distinguished scholarships involves extensive planning and preparation. The ODS advising team is eager to partner with students to provide mentoring, resources, and preparation support throughout the application process to help track your progress.
