AWARD DETAILS

The Undergraduate Research Symposium seeks to recognize student projects in the broad, interdisciplinary field of Filmmaking. For projects that fit the award criteria and showcase excellence in its execution, we are prepared to award three projects with a dollar prize, one for $300, one for $150, and an audience vote award for $50. These awards are sponsored by the Undergraduate Research Symposium in collaboration with The Cinema Department, Ducks After Dark, and UO Presents. The criteria in order to be eligible is as follows:

  • Shows conceptual and executional strengths in subject matter, theme, story, and style
  • Utilizes filmmaking techniques to the use of the project (not simply recording of a stage performance for example)
  • .mov or .mp4 files, minimum 1920x1080p Full HD Resolution
  • Shorts must not exceed 40 minutes
  • Feature Lengths/Series must not exceed 120 minutes

 

Award specific Eligibility criteria

  • Current UO undergraduate student conducting research and presenting in the Film Screening Format.
