The Distinguished Scholarship Homecoming Reception launched in 2023 to advance access, equity, and support for students exploring and pursuing distinguished scholarships and fellowships. This networking and pipeline event is a partnership with the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management, the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Robert D. Clark Honors College, the Division of Global Engagement, the Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence, University Housing, and University Advancement.
We invite all incoming and continuing Stamps, Presidential, Ducks Excellence, PURA Schlars , PBK Junior Inductees and Ronald E. McNair Scholars to join us for a unique opportunity to meet with University of Oregon alumni, faculty, staff, and current students who are former recipients and finalists of distinguished scholarships. Our distinguished scholar guests, joining us in person and virtually, will offer brief introductions and then be available to engage with students.
The space will be organized into conversation areas with signage indicating the location for different scholarships facilitating an open house/scholarship fair spirit. We will also host a Zoom fireside chat in an adjacent room with our distinguished scholars alumni who are currently abroad. The faculty and staff of Undergraduate Research & Distinguished Scholarships, as well as their campus partners, will also share the resources available to students for comprehensive advising and support in exploring and pursuing distinguished scholarships.
The event is held annually in conjunction with UO Homecoming activities.
